our address is 334 S. Washington St., Maryville TN 37804! We praise God for this blessing and are excited to see what He will do next!

June 2011 kingdom design was presented with the news that we would no longer be a part of the Chamber Foundation. through the work of God's hand, He made provision for KDM to have our 501(c)3 application and process completed in record time! In man's time, this was impossible to achieve within a year, 6months...but with GOD! 13 weeks from submission to approval. It is to HIM that we give all the praise and glory! We can't wait to see what HE does next through KDM.

2010 Room Makeover

Hello everyone! It has been some time since our last post....the past several months have been an extremely busy time for KDM! Fundraiser, planning meeting, etc...have dominated the schedule! Today's post is about our latest room makeover for a boy in East Tennessee name Jimmy Munds! I ask Missy to give us a little background about this precious boy so here is her take:

Jimmy was to be born a twin, but when a premature emergency delivery had to be performed his unborn brother did not make it! Jimmy made it out of the womb but had suffered a stroke in the process which left him with Cerebral Palsy. He spent four months in the hospital and just one week before his first birthday he received a kidney transplant from a special donor - his own mother!

The first time we visited Jimmy's family, his mother gave us a tiny glimpse into the broken world of a parent with a special needs child. With tears rolling down her sweet face she explained, "Jimmy doesn't have any of the qualities that our world values...he isn't rich, he isn't smart, he isn't beautiful, and he isn't an athlete! He's a little boy that is different."

Oh, but then he smiles....and it's a smile that can melt your heart! It's an amazing feeling to see a human life that spreads such a degree of warmth that you intuitively KNOW this life is held softly and securely in the hands of the almighty God!

From that very first meeting this verse of scripture came to me and stayed in my heart throughout this project, "But many who are the greatest now will be the least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then." Matthew 19:30

Praise God that He has eternal eyes and He sees so much more than we do!

Fall is in the air!

From the changing colors of the leaves, to pumpkins and hay bales - you see it all around! I love this time of year...the season change always brings a longing for change in my own life - a time of reflection, anticipation, a longing for what's just around the corner...the holidays!

Next month, KDM is hosting a fundraiser at Sullivans in downtown Maryville. We will be auctioning off small Christmas trees designed and decorated by area artists and designers - who have generously given their time and talents - to bring a night of festivities! Ornaments, design services, and much more have been donated for auction/purchase - with all proceeds going to Kingdom Design Ministries! If you are interested in attending, tickets are $12.00 and can be paid through the Blount County Chamber of Commerce. Payment will reserve your spot! Space is limited. Right now we are praying about a little boy but cannot yet disclose his name. We are waiting for funding before we approach his family about this wonderful opportunity. Ashley Manes
When Ashley was four years old, she was in a terrible car wreck that left her paralyzed from the neck down. Her father, Joe, painfully recalls a turning point for him.
"Ashley was in the hospital in Atlanta. We knew she was paralyzed and at this point she could not speak either. One day before I entered her hospital room, her nurse told me that Ashley had a surprise for me. When I walked into the room, I could see they had put a trach in her throat. For the first time in days, she was able to speak. She looked up at me and said "I love you Daddy". Joe said, at that moment, he knew that God was speaking to him through this child and telling him that everything was going to be O.K.. "I still have my moments but God has taken care of us". Even though Makenzie was not the one diagnosed, she lived this heartbreak right along with her little sister. In many ways, it was also a very devastating time for Makenzie says her mother, Pam. "So much of the time, it seemed as though Makenzie got the leftovers; whether that was our time, money, attention, or affection. Of course we didn't intend it to be that way, and she never complained...it was just what came with a having a very sick little sister."

The same day that changed our country forever also changed this family forever. As the twin towers came crumbling down in NYC, so did their world! Sitting in the doctor's office, they heard the terrible words "Your two year old daughter has cancer".

The scripture verse that sustained their family during Natalie's illness was John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you so. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, you will be also"
